Adani Enterprises Q4 Profit Surges 7.5x on Wilmar Stake Sale, Solar Manufacturing Boom
May 10, 2025 | Business & Markets
Adani Enterprises Ltd, the flagship firm of the Adani Group, has reported a massive 7.5-fold jump in net profit for the fourth quarter, driven by a significant one-time gain and continued momentum in its solar and airport businesses.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹3,441 crore for the January–March 2025 quarter, compared to ₹460 crore in the same period last year.
Key Drivers of Growth
The sharp rise in profits was primarily attributed to two major factors:
-
Stake Sale in Wilmar JV: Adani Enterprises recorded a ₹3,286 crore gain from divesting its stake in Adani Wilmar, its joint venture in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) space. The strategic exit provided a major boost to bottom-line numbers.
-
Robust Performance in Solar Manufacturing: The company reported strong revenue growth from its solar module manufacturing business, which continues to benefit from India’s clean energy drive and government incentives for domestic production.
In addition, airport operations and data center businesses also contributed positively, highlighting Adani Enterprises’ growing diversification across key infrastructure sectors.
Operational Highlights
-
Total Income for the quarter stood at ₹31,120 crore, up from ₹28,947 crore year-on-year.
-
EBITDA margins expanded significantly due to the high-value asset sale and improved operating efficiency in core businesses.
Strategic Focus Going Forward
With the exit from the Wilmar JV, Adani Enterprises is expected to sharpen its focus on infrastructure, green energy, and technology-driven businesses. The company is actively ramping up investments in:
-
Green hydrogen
-
Solar module gigafactories
-
Airport modernization
-
Data center networks
Gautam Adani, Chairperson of the group, had earlier stated that the group’s next phase of growth would be built on “energy transition, digital transformation, and nation-building.”
Investor Outlook By Line UP
Despite the challenging macroeconomic environment, Adani Enterprises continues to outperform expectations, buoyed by its pivot toward future-ready sectors and asset monetization strategy. The market responded positively to the earnings announcement, with the company’s stock seeing modest gains in early trading.
The results reinforce investor confidence in the group’s ability to navigate regulatory challenges and diversify revenue streams.
